CDI Director Job Responsibilities and Requirements
CDI Directors are responsible for managing CDI specialists and staff, as well as coordinating communication and collaboration among key departments within the organization. CDI Directors are also expected to measure CDI processes for effectiveness and outcomes, and prove the success of these outcomes to their organization’s top administration. This requires a focus on measurement and accountability, as you’ll need to closely evaluate performance metrics as they pertain to the organization’s business goals. As a CDI Director, you should also possess many soft skills including strong communications skills; relationship-building abilities in the workplace; and time management.
CDI Directors with MedPartners must have the following qualifications:
- BSN, CCDS, CCS or CDIP with a minimum of five years CDI experience
- Three years leadership experience
- Certifications are preferred (such as CCDS or RHIT)
