The National Committee on Vital Health and Statistics sounds off about the possible ICD-10 delay. Dr. Jusine M. Carr, Chairperson to the NCVHS urges Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services to decide upon and announce a delay (if there will be) as soon as possible. The NCVHS recognizes the “significant financial burden” the delay could cause and further states “the delay should not be more than a year from the current deadline.”
MedPartners HIM is encouraging business partners, consultants and other collaborating entities to provide financial data to CMS on the cost of a delay. How much has your organization spent so far and how much would need to be reinvested if there is a delay? CMS needs information including the impact a delay could have on jobs.
